KEN from Maine asks: Dear T What's the best way to make sure my pictures and my descriptions stay together so its easier to get them onto my page? Dear Ken, The best way to do it is to include the name of the picture in your description. For example, if your picture were named “box_image” you would start our your description like: “Box_image”. This is a description of my box image. If the first words in your description is the name of the picture then it's easy for us to know what picture belongs to what description. This way you can send several photos and several descriptions in the same email and they wont get confused. You get your photos and descriptions up in front of customers faster. "T" |

| "Techy" Tip Have you often wondered what those F Number keys at the top of your keyboard were for? One of them, F5, is for refreshing your screen. You simply tap on F5 and it refreshes the same as if you had tapped the refresh key. Many times it can be faster! |
assure they are matched correctly. "T" |
Dear "T" I hope you can tell what the below message is all about. The first time I contacted ACER they had me to do a complete System Recovery (at which time I lost everything I had on my computer because I did not know that I had to save or copy and the technician who helped me did not explain that I had to do that) (you can tell I am very new to computer technical usage). After doing that I encountered the message again. After contacting ACER for the 2nd time. The Tech let me know that I should have been told to save all info. The 2nd Tech could not help me and told me he would research and call me back. He has not. MESSAGE: "ESP NT System Service Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell Microsoft about this problem." Dear Rachel, ESP NT System Service Launcher is primarily in your Windows Media Player. This is the little program that plays any .MPG or .AVI (movie) files. Every once in a while it will get an error or THINK it got an error and send you that message. Unfortunately, you cannot tell if the error was real or the computer "imagined" it. The easiest fix for it would be to allow Microsoft to do an update or upgrade to it. Let me know if this helps, Rachel "T" |
Rachel From North Las Vegas asks: Hi "T" it's me again. Thanks for the tip on using "F5". Would you at your convenience give us tips for all the "F" keys. Thank you, Rachel Dear Rachel, Sure! I'll be happy to let you know about a few of the Function keys (F keys). F1 - The universal "HELP" key. When your in any program, including at your desktop in Windows, pressing the F1 key will bring up the help screen where you can actually search for your problem/question. F2 - You can use the F2 key to rename an item when working in Windows. Highlight any folder or file, and press F2. You will then be able to type a new name for the object. After you type the new name, just click outside the name box or press the enter key to make the name change. This works just like right-clicking a file or folder and selecting Rename F3 - When you are working in Windows, the F3 key will open the Find Files window. F4 - The F4 key has some very useful functionality. You can press F4 to open the Address bar when working in Internet Explorer. This will allow you to type the address of a Web page for quick access. You can also press the Alt key and the F4 key at the same time to close the open Window that you are currently working on. F5 - Is used to refresh the screen. F6 + F7 - No Windows structured actions YET but may be programed. F8 - The F8 key can be used to access Safe Mode if pressed during the computer's boot up process. This is a trouble-shooting mode, which will start the computer with minimal drivers. F9 - F11 - No real functionality yet but can be programed. F12 - Not a Windows programed function key but may be programmed into other software applications. There are of course other combinations of the function keys such as holding down the control key and pressing another key. This list is very long. Maybe I can talk our CraftersPlus Administrator into giving me a page and I'll put them all in there. Thanks for the question Rachel. Let me know if you have any more questions. "T"

| Bill asks: Dear "T" I keep getting this message 100's of times a day. ESP NT System Service Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Then it wants me to send a report which I have every time. This is a new computer... Is it me or Microsoft? Dear Bill, As Rachael asked the same question, I'm going to go into a bit more depth. First of all, it's a little program associated with Windows Media player but is also an integral part of the Windows Operating System. Sometimes it gets the idea in it's 'little head' that it has an error. The only way out of it is to do an update or upgrade to windows media player. BUT then again, there is another possible reason. It's not an easy fix. The problem COULD be coming from just about any place. I've seen this message before and in some cases, its been associated with corrupt DLL files from some form of security from Internet Service Providers. Some Internet Service Providers security suites use Visual Basic routines that may also have become 'Whacked Out'! You might want to do a windows update and look for a scripting fix by going to the following link: http://support.microsoft.com You might also want to so a Windows Update by going to the following link: http://update.microsoft.com I do not believe that this is a virus or spy ware problem, but as always I strongly suggest that you keep your virus and spy ware programs always updated to the latest updates. Good luck and please let me know. "T" |
